Upchain product overview
Upchain is a secure cloud PLM solution for engineers, designers, and business stakeholders who need to collaborate across complex value chains. This platform was designed to make product lifecycle management easy for product teams.
Upchain also has Product Data Management (PDM) capabilities made for rapid deployment and adoption for product innovators across any industry sector. This PLM solution works out of the box. Product teams can work with other teams and customers through Upchain PLM’s built-in 2D/3D CAD viewer and markup tools, eliminating the need for expensive CAD licenses.
Upchain can streamline change management processes and allow teams to configure custom chain processes as needed. Change management processes can be controlled by leveraging customizable, automated workflows for handling issues, RFQs, ECNs, and ECRs. Similarly, version control is automated with recorded changes for instant reversion plus the tracking of who did what and when for change auditing purposes.
The platform has general workflow design and creation tools that enable repetitive tasks or processes to be improved while monitoring team member performance levels that can be summarized within dashboard reports to intuitively gauge project status. Breakdown of core features
The platform helps keep Bill of Materials organized and data up to date. It lets teams auto generate a BOM from any information format needed, including SKU and XML. Teams can highlight changes between different BOM versions to quickly see what’s changed. BOMs in Upchain are automatically linked to CAD metadata. The solution provides role-based views of the same underlying BOM to keep users focused and data organized.
Automated parts numbering
Upchain has an automated unique parts identifier system to suit every business. Revision information and part specs in the system are attached to each unique part, independent of the unique identifier. Product teams can use existing part numbers from suppliers / ERP and attach critical engineering metadata.
Product teams can configure custom change management processes quickly so ECNs, ECRs, and other change processes can be implemented.
Create and manage ECRs
Upchain allows product teams to review all changes with configurable approval processes. Teams can track every change, who made it, when, and why. Changes in Upchain automatically meet ISO, internal, and external compliance standards for controlled change management processes. Users can view, review, and approve changes to CAD models in 3D without the underlying CAD software.
