Based in Estonia in the Baltic region of Northern Europe, the five-member team behind Ganttic got its start in 2002 creating specialized software solutions for the woodworking industry. Woodware Systems, a resource scheduling software tool dedicated to wood-related production, was released in 2004. Their next project, a more general project scheduling software tool called Yutiti, was released in 2008. Two years later, the group released a simplified version of Yutiti as an affordable web-based resource planning software application, which they called Ganttic, a reference to the program’s graphic interface and interactive Gantt charts. Several well-known large companies are Ganttic customers including Motorola, Siemens, Thomson Reuters, Edelman and Imtech.
Ganttic is a flexible web-based resource planning software solution that features a visual interface, drop-and-drag scheduling and fully customizable user fields. Based around a calendar display and a customizable color coding scheme, users can zoom in or out to view details or get an overview of “the big picture.” Ganttic allows resources to be shared between multiple projects, and its utilization tracking features can calculate how your resources were spent for any visible time range. This resource planning software solution also lets users collaborate in real time and share information with an unlimited number of users, while allowing you to set user rights at the resource group level. Ganttic logs and tracks the history when changes are made for every task and project, and a message board and comments sections attached to tasks and projects allow for instant communication between users. Additionally, Ganttic syncs with Google Calendar. Three web-based monthly subscription plans are available, as well as a self-hosting option.
