Welcome to this week’s product spotlight, where we highlight different technology companies each week. This video is produced by TechnologyAdvice where we Educate, Advise, and Connect buyers and sellers of business technology. In this week’s spotlight we have Dinesh Varadharajan, the Vice President of Product Management at Kissflow. I asked Dinesh to describe Kissflow in one sentence. This is what he had to say. Kissflow is a platform to help business users discover, create, or modify, and use business applications.

The typical examples are like the lead application, or the purchase order, or the expenses that you normally use in your organization. If you want to create any of that or you want to roll it out in your organization, then you can use Kissflow. I followed up with a question about what differentiates Kissflow from other similar products. Most of these type products are developer oriented. You need to know programming to use these products. Kissflow is built for users, and not for programmers.

You don’t have to write any code to use this product. We have a drag and drop interface which you can use to create applications in kissflow, and similarly if you want to create workflows in kissflow you can also use drag and drop with all the steps that are needed, and create the workflows. It’s very simple for the business users to use without having to go into IT. We have extensive reports to measure, and if you want to re-engineer a process, you can do that with kissflow.

We also have huge list of pre-built applications in kissflow. Instead of creating something on your own, you can probably install from the marketplace and start using the application. We support integrations with more than 350 products. If you already use quite a few products in your organization, we can integrate kissflow with those products. So we can get the same exact data into Kissflow. SHORT ANSWER: Typically all the products like Kissflow are targeted at developers, so you need to know some programming language to create applications.

Kissflow is actually built for business users and not for programmers. You don’t have to know any programming knowledge to develop applications in Kissflow. We have a very simple drag and drop interface to create the forms and workflows, and we have very extensive reports to measure how applications are behaving in an organization. If you want to re-engineer, you can do that. In addition, we have a huge list of pre-built applications, so you don’t have to create anything.

You can install applications from the marketplace and start using it. We also integrate with over 350 different products that are typically used in these organizations. So if you have these applications, you can directly integrate those with Kissflow and start using it. Next, I asked Dinesh to talk about the ideal customers for Kissflow. Our ideal customer is a SMB. People in HR, finance, in any SMB. We normally target companies from 50 to 500 users.

The Human Resource Managers are the main people along with Finance, who will use Kissflow to automate application that are needed in those departments within the organization. So those are our ideal customers. Of course, we have other types of customers. They use it for, what we call, long tale applications. They already have all the systems in place. If they don’t have systems around their ERP’s and CRM’s, if they want to automate those applications, then they use Kissflow to automate that.

I followed with a question about pricing. This is how they broke it down for us. We only have one plan. It’s $3 per user, per month. Normally we sell it in packages of ten. So if you have ten users, it comes around $30 per month. Whoever creates the workflow, it’s $18 per month. A normal package runs about $48 dollars per month. I asked Dinesh what a limitations for Kissflow was, and this is what he told us. One thing we want to make you aware of is the complexity.

In principle, we believe in simplicity over comprehensiveness. We may not have thousands of features to solve every possible use case, but the features we do have, will be able to solve most of use cases. We want to keep it that way. Finally, I asked him to talk about a best practice for implementing Kissflow We have seminars every week for all of our customers and people who want to buy Kissflow. Watching those, they will get a better understanding on how to use Kissflow within their organization.

We also have detailed documentation and videos available on the site to help them figure out how to develop applications using Kissflow. We also have technical support executives 24/7. They will obviously help you rollout the first application inside your organization. You can make use of all this documentation, and help that is available for the product to roll out Kissflow in your organization.
