The JAMF Software was founded in 2002 with the mission to creating top IT administrator tools, services, and resources for commercial, education, and government organizations. Building solutions exclusively for Apple products, JAMF Software produces Jamf Pro (formerly Casper Suite), a mobile device management (MDM) software that can also be integrated easily into existing support technologies.

Jamf Pro is intended to be a full-solution MDM system for Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV. IT departments can enable devices in-house, remotely, or through end user initiation. Software, management profiles, and content can be easily disseminated through a number of channels, and the system offers remote and automated security protocols. Jamf Pro offers analytics and reporting features in order to ensure that the system is working optimally, and to detect potential problems before they start. The software allows for companies to build off Apple’s native device management tools, and to take advantage of the newest OS features.

The Bering Strait School District used Jamf Pro (under the name Casper Suite) to manage nearly 1,600 Macs located in 16 different sites that are spread out over 80,000 square miles; some of the schools are only accessible by helicopter. Using Jamf Pro, the school district's IT department remotely offered comprehensive management for both mobile and desktop devices.
