Hello! I’m Justin Fraction! Back again like I never left - for TechnologyAdvice. And you’ve found yourself chock full of knee deep in the heart and soul of the belly of the inner core of our series on The Best HR Mobile Applications for 2023. And in this video, we’re going to talk about Connecteam. Connecteam is all about teamwork and while it does include a web-based application its line of products is built with mobile in mind. So like some others on our favorites list, you can do pretty much anything you might need to do on its mobile app without ever needing to use a desktop computer.
Connecteam divides its products up into what it calls hubs. So there are operations, communications, HR, and skills hubs. It allows teams to mix and match hubs and pricing tiers so your company can have a completely customized solution. Here’s one awesome thing about this software: Connecteam allows businesses of fewer than 10 employees to use all of their hubs – including almost every feature – for free. So new companies or small teams can save money on employee communication and only get the features that they need as time goes on.
So now let’s talk about some of our specific favorite features. Connecteam is very aware of how people communicate or “connect” these days. The app allows for department or location-based group chats, ensuring secure communication among various teams without having to share personal phone numbers. So you get, essentially, the flexibility of texting your employees while also providing moderation controls to protect private company information. Connecteam’s application also offers what it calls a “newsfeed.” On this feed, you can keep employees informed by posting company announcements and other updates.
And yes it supports gifs, images, videos, polls, and emojis so it’s not your granddaddy’s news. Behind every cloud is a silver lining and behind every silver lining is another dark cloud, and behind that, perhaps a bird of prey or a dove of peace. I’m not sure where I’m going with this so here are the pros and cons. Connecteam has A forever free plan for small businesses of 10 or fewer employees. Customizable onboarding training courses. Tools to support distributed teams’ asynchronous communication.
And with an app that supports 18 different languages, it’s a “World Wide Woman,” “Double-ya. Double-ya. Double-ya.” So if you speak one, you can log on anywhere and Connecteam will be right there in your language of ch– See, I was working on a classic Beyonce lyric. I didn’t just randomly say all that. On with the cons! There are no payroll or benefits administration modules so if you need that you’ll have to look elsewhere. Also, users must pay extra per employee per month after the first 30 employees.
We chose Connecteam’s mobile app as one of our favorites because it’s especially useful for distributed teams. It does eliminate the need for multiple communication apps. And keeping things simple so you can do the work needed to keep your company going is a goal more software companies should focus on. So that’s it folks for this video! There’s one more left in this series! I’m sure you’re excited! I know I am! For more videos, stick around here and check out one of our playlists.
