Hootsuite is a social media management tool that allows users to execute their social media marketing efforts from one central, easy-to-use platform. If your team manages social media accounts across several platforms, then Hootsuite can be a substantial timesaver that reduces a lot of manual effort that goes into publishing content on all of your accounts. Hootsuite has four plans available. Hootsuite offers a free plan that includes 2 social accounts and up to 5 scheduled messages at any given time.

Hootsuite’s paid plans start with its Professional Plan, which allows up to 10 social accounts and unlimited scheduled posts. In addition, Hootsuite offers a 30-day free trial. Hootsuite comes with a variety of features for social media management. One of Hootsuite’s most important features is its ability to schedule posts across all of your social media profiles. This means that instead of manually posting your content on Facebook, Linkedin, and Twitter one by one, you’ll be able to use Hootsuite to schedule your post across all of your social media accounts at a specified time.

This feature is a huge timesaver, especially if you post frequently. Hootsuite’s scheduling tool is quite easy to use. To automate your posting schedule, you simply need to select the time the post should publish, and the accounts and platforms it should publish across. If a scheduled message fails to be published on one of your social media accounts, Hootsuite will send an automatic email notification. With Hootsuite’s Streams feature, users can customize a dashboard to display content from connected social media accounts.

This allows users to monitor post engagement, conversations and mentions. Users can also set up streams to populate relevant content based on keywords and hashtags. For example, you can set up a stream to monitor major social media networks for posts related to “dental whitening.” Users can respond to comments in social posts and direct messages directly in Hootsuite. Hootsuite includes a useful analytics tool to help analyze social media campaign performance.

The system provides dashboards that aggregate various social media KPIs in one central location. You can also use Hootsuite analytics to track how long it takes your team to react to social media mentions, posts, and comments. This can be helpful in understanding how effective your past social media efforts have been, and improve future posts to ensure the highest rate of engagement. Hootsuite is an ideal option for most businesses. That being said, there are some pros and cons worth mentioning.

On the pro side, Hootsuite customers can publish to several social media platforms simultaneously. Hoosuite’s Streams feature allows customers to monitor a broad range of social media content. Lastly, Hootsuite has a portfolio of integrated applications to augment the core application's functionality. As for cons, Hootsuite’s social inbox is not as robust as alternative solutions. Hootsuite does not offer a social CRM or chatbots. Lastly, some third-party integrations, like Zendesk and Basecamp, are only available in high-tier plans.

It’s a good idea to get multiple quotes before choosing a social media management platform solution. If you’re interested in Hootsuite, you might also want to consider Buffer, Denim Social, Sendible, and Sprout Social. Still not sure if Hootsuite is right for you?
