Welcome, today we’ll be looking at QlikView, software that offers user-driven business intelligence which helps companies better understand their brand. The Challenge for QlikView is to convince businesses that the time put into developing actionable data can help them improve their strategy. QlikView helps business users understand their brand by consolidating complex data, simplifying data visualization, and providing real-time access to analytics. This improves internal communications and streamlines workflow. By helping business users uncover the latest trends, QlikView simplifies big data while enhancing the decision making process We’re going to display a few QlikView sandbox demos to give you a better understanding of its functionality and versatility.

There are several ways in which users can set up QlikView to display data. We’ll start with the original QlikView which requires an on-premise installation. Users can import data from multiple sources and QlikView sorts it all in one place. The application offers helpful tips and tricks on how you can potentially sort data. There are several different ways to visualize data and we’ll start with comparison. As the most traditional form of data analysis, bar graphs allow users to get a better understanding of how different sets of data interact with one another.

Another helpful chart within QlikView is the line graph or movements chart which shows short term and long term trends. The last chart we’ll profile is the ratio or pie chart which helps users see total share of various aspects of a set of data. Now that we have the basics of what QlikView is capable of, we’ll jump in to a data set to see an example of what QLikView can do. This is a hypothetical prescription tracker. The data and layout are entirely customizable and can be used to develop sales strategies.

There are three sheets that each contain different data. Dashboard, prescriptions and call frequency. By clicking on data to the left, users can see how various markets and geographic areas are impacted. The same goes for data within the prescriptions sheet with the added ability to sort based on physician. The charts can also be customized to show volume or market share. Lastly call volume gives a good indication of which salespeople are creating the most opportunities.

Users can also toggle the addtional filters to select various products, codes, or territories. To display what QlikView Sense, the online web application is capable of, we’ll check out the sales and customer analysis data for a hypothetical sporting goods company. this interface has the added benefit of being accessible via the cloud and can therefore be easily shared and adjusted amongst team members. The layout is very simple and intuitive with the ability to select various information on the left hand side and sort data in the center.

Users can toggle between various sheets via the pulldown tab in the top right. There’s also the ability to create power-point like stories as well which give managers the ability to act on their data. Lastly QlikView has powerful Salesforce integration. At the top are similar icons that let users clear the current data, go back, lock all selection, bookmark, and more. The dashboard displays past present and predicted data. Volume and top closers take a prominent place within the data.

Teams can also view overall trends, sort by opportunity stage, and sales rep. Also within the opportunity tab, click on a cell will bring up all data with the same value so users can easily see how opportunities are doign by sattus, rep, type, etc... Made for medium-sized companies to enterprises, QlikView is available for a medium price point. A few limitation we noticed and confirmed from reviews on our website is the learning curve is quite steep so this isn’t for anyone looking for quick reports and while the stories and reporting were neat within the interface, they were difficult to export or view outside of the web application..
