foreign welcome today we'll be looking at NoMa desk a cloud storage service that advertises secure business class file sharing this review is brought to you by technology advice and the smart advisor tool which lets you compare 50 cloud backup and storage companies in under two minutes you'll interact with no modesk through both their desktop client and web interface when you first configure the software for your desktop you'll create a vault and you can see the desktop client right here and a vault is just an encrypted Virtual Drive that's stored on nomadesk servers where you'll put files and from which you can share them now when you make a vault it'll show up just like another drive under your computer and you can just drag files into there or whole folders and anything you put in there will be backed up online and then from their desktop client you can have a few tools you can create new accounts or vaults you can link accounts to current vaults so if you're an administrator you can set up privileges for various accounts to which vaults they can access and what files they can view and share so that's a nice centralized control system if you're in a large business or an Enterprise and then there's also a web client called mynoma desk hold that up and can view that right here and so it's a pretty clean interface you can see any vaults you have and you can see group vaults if you're doing a collaborative project you might want to add one that anyone can drag files in um and you can share files through this interface as well see with our test doc you can just click file link and that'll allow you to give it a new name if you want enter the email addresses put a subject just like you're sending an email and then there's a lot of options you can have no modest can notify you when someone accesses the file you can set the link to expire in a certain number of days anywhere from 1 to 60. you can put a maximum number of downloads after which the link won't work and you can also password protect the link so there's a big focus on security and a lot of different options to keep track of what's going on in addition you can see a file activity log for certain vaults or certain individual files you can look at all the notifications that have occurred and you can see your revision history with timestamps which would be helpful if you're working in a large group or maybe a large business and that's pretty much the two different clients that nomadesk offers the pros it's an easy to use interface we found it fairly intuitive to pick up and learn administrators can track any file changes and stay on top of what exactly is being shared that's great and there's also a theft guard system built in which is going to allow you to remotely wipe files off of a computer if it's stolen or compromised the downsides to nomadesk the desktop client pull that back up as you saw is not particularly full featured it's pretty basic there's not really a way to add files directly through it you have to add them through the separate drive it creates nomadesk also doesn't offer 24 7 customer support and there's no physical media restore so if you do lose files you'll have to re-download them through the web interface before you make any decisions I recommend you go to technologyadvice.com and use the smart advisor tool that's going to allow you to compare over 50 cloud backup and storage companies including nomadesk in under two minutes thank you for watching this video walkthrough of nomadesk
