Homebase has additional features that can manage time worked, time off, overtime, and onboarding, and it also integrates with many major POS, payroll, and job board systems including Square, Shopify, ADP, gusto, Indeed, and ZipRecruiter. Homebase is priced per month per location and is billed monthly; although, a discount is available if users wish to bill annually. There are four main plans available: Basic, Essentials, Plus, and All in One. The Basic plan is free for one location and features timesheets, time clocks, and scheduling.
And the other plans all add more and more features like communication, PTO tracking, new hire onboarding, and more, with pricing ranging between $15 and $70 USD per month per location as of the time of this recording. Homebase is a web-based solution, so you can access it from all modern browsers. The features intended for team members are available through the mobile app, which is available on both Android and iOS. As previously mentioned, Homebase’s primary focus is on time clock and scheduling features.
When users update the master schedule, automatic notifications can be sent to team members through text, email, or the mobile app. Upon opening the app, users will receive confirmation that team members have seen the schedule, so users don’t have to wonder if their team has seen the updates or not. Scheduling itself is optimized as well, with custom templates or auto-scheduling features that operate by tracking resource availability and time off.
Alerts can also be set to avoid scheduling overtime, and if there’s a gap in the schedule, open shifts can be posted for other team members to claim. On the other side of the process, team members can clock in and out of their work shifts from just about any device, including computers, POS devices, or their mobile devices, using the free time clock app. Hours, breaks, overtime, PTO, can all be tracked this way, and if users have several locations, team members can specify which location they’re clocking in to.
This data is constantly being fed into Homebase’s system, allowing users to then take that data and get a real-time analysis into labor costs, overall coverage, and more. The higher paid plans of Homebase include additional HR features to supplement the scheduling components. Timesheets are automatically generated from the time clock data, allowing for a simple import process to payroll. Homebase calculates info on wages and taxes and automatically routes it as needed to employees, the state(s) that users work in, and the IRS, even going so far as to automatically process tax filings and issue 1099s and W-2s.
Users can also make use of compliance and onboarding tools to keep track of employee documents, certifications, e-signatures, and automated welcome packets.
