VIDEO: Apptivo CRM Review

This review is for Apptivo, an online app suite for enterprise resource planning. Apptivo provides an integrated suite of custom business apps covering CRM, project management, invoicing, and more. When you open Apptivo for the first time, you’ll notice that it recommends apps based on your business category. In this video, we’ll be focusing on CRM, Projects, and Human Resources. To add more apps, simply click the “add” button. The main interface opens to a calendar view of your agenda, which you can sort by day, week, or month.

On the left side of the screen, you can toggle between agenda, newsfeed, calendar, tasks, call log, work queue, follow-ups, emails, and notes. To add an event, click “create activity” in the top left corner and select “event.” From here, you can enter details like location, date, notes, tags, and attendees. At the top of the screen, you can use the drop down tabs to navigate between different apps in your account, and even specific sections of those apps.

Under the CRM contact view, you can see a list of contacts sorted by name, job title, or contact type. You can also jump to specific sections of your list using the search bar at the top, or the alphabetized directory in the sidebar. In the Projects drop-down tab, you can choose between projects and timesheets. When you create a new timesheet, you can assign it to a specific customer, which gives you the ability to submit for review without leaving the application.

Apptivo’s Human Resources app features an employee news feed, reports, and a searchable employee directory. The sidebar menu gives you various options for sorting names and adding new employees. Additional Apptivo features include email and payments integration, flexible options for data storage, and access to over 50 customizable business apps. The Enterprise edition also includes a personal account representative, implementation services, and 24/7 customer support.

Apptivo is more an ecosystem of business apps than a single software tool, so it’s best for companies with diverse software needs across multiple departments. If you’re looking for a best-of-breed vendor, Apptivo may not go deep enough into some focus areas. Apptivo is free for up to 3 users. It offers three paid versions — Premium, Ultimate, and Enterprise — which are priced in the low to medium range.
