The Zoom platform was built for exclusively for users to host webinars, teach and conduct online training, present video demonstrations, and engage via virtual meetings and video conferencing. Zoom offers quality video, audio and screen-sharing functionality to help improve collaboration amongst teams, remote employees and other participants. Users are able to start and join a meeting instantly with only one touch of their mobile device or browser. Zoom also facilitates content sharing via wireless mode if needed as this can enhance remote access to webinars and web conferencing.

Webinar functionality

The number of participants that Zoom can host via video webinars can range from 100 to 10,000 view-only attendees and 100 interactive video participants. Users can invite others to participate in a webinar by sending the URL link automatically generated by the software that can be copied and posted to social media platforms and instant messengers. URL links can also be sent through email, which can also be automatically done through client’s email and software.

Video conferencing

Zoom features a dual screen support system which allows viewing of both panelist and presentation screens. HD video and voice with dynamic voice detection functionality are also included. Through its dynamic screen-sharing ability, users can share their desktop screen, an active window in their browser, or a whiteboard to present diagrams and illustrations to viewers.

Collaboration

Zoom’s collaboration feature allows users to create groups and instantly send text, images, or audio files to its members. Additionally, users can invite people to join a group and receive access through the use of smartphones. With the drag-and-drop function, users can share documents, photos, or video clips, as well as annotate or co-annotate by allowing the addition of notes or comments on documents.

Recording

Zoom users can record their virtual meetings in either MP4 or M4A video formats when using either the web or mobile devices. This cloud and local recording of meetings eliminates the need for third-party recording devices to capture and retain meeting details.
