Change management

OpenBOM has a flexible mechanism to track and manage changes. It includes functions for Change History, Revisions, Change Report, Change Request, and Approval. The software keeps the full history of all changes so everything is traceable and discoverable. Change history is automatically captured in the database, and the mechanisms of change in history are triggered automatically. Revision history is a linear representation of all saved revisions. Product teams can create a report with a list of changes that were made in a BOM between revisions. OpenBOM allows users to manage Engineering Change Orders and support Change Request Approval mechanisms.

Data Sharing

The platform lets users initiate instant sharing with real-time collaboration and concurrent editing tools to ensure information is current and distributed to the right people. Product teams can share data to read or edit. Users can also provide more granular access to data by limiting access to specific columns and setting up view filters. OpenBOM ensures that data is securely isolated for each user, team, and company. Users can share information between users, teams, and companies without exporting, importing, or copying of data necessary.

Bill of Materials creation

Product teams can create BOMs in OpenBOM manually or by importing BOMs from Excel, Google spreadsheet, or CAD using CAD integration. OpenBOM allows users to create and manage any type of BOMs, from simple part lists to complex multi-disciplinary structures with a diverse set of properties in each level.
