LeverProduct Overview
Lever recruiting software product overview
Lever is a San Francisco, California-based software company that makes applicant tracking and recruiting software. Lever Hire, the company’s primary product, lets recruiters and HR professionals find and track talent, schedule interviews, and evaluate candidates. Lever serves a variety of clients, from big names in tech like Shopify and Quora to private medical practices and charter schools.
Lever is a cloud-based recruiting system that comes in three different pricing tiers. Each tier is by quote only, and all three include varying levels of features and support. Core features include a Google Chrome sourcing extension, social referrals, custom careers page, interview scheduling, and more. Higher-priced tiers offer features such as a data API, multi-domain support, and requisition management.
Pros of Lever
Users report that user experience (UX), customer service, and responsiveness to feature requests are the biggest pros of Lever. The software offers a simple and intuitive user interface (UI) that’s easy to learn. This also helps to boost adoption rates. Multiple users highlighted excellent customer support for technical problems, and others noted how Lever often acts on popular feature requests. This makes customers feel heard and valued.
Cons of Lever
The most glaring con of Lever is that it only integrates with G Suite and Microsoft Office for email and calendar. This isn’t a problem for most organizations, but for some larger enterprises that have yet to migrate to either of the two, the lack of support for other systems can be a roadblock.
Breakdown of core features
Candidate sourcing
The candidate sourcing feature in Lever lets users save candidate information, including name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn profile link, and their resume. For Google Chrome users, Lever offers a Chrome extension that lets users save candidates as they discover them on LinkedIn. Users can comment and @ mention colleagues on candidate contact card to get real time feedback on candidates as they work.
Interview scheduling
Lever automates interview scheduling by letting users send candidates their availability. Instead of going back and forth over email, candidates can see all of their options and choose the time that works best for them. This significantly cuts down on the amount of time recruiters spend trying to schedule interviews, freeing them up to work on their other hiring efforts.
Custom careers page
Like many ATS and recruiting software systems, Lever lets recruiters create a custom careers page for their organization’s website. This includes both internal and an external job boards, and users can choose where and when they want to post new job openings. Users can also create job applications using the same feature, giving candidates a clean, one-page application.
