Canto’s organization features simplify media library storage and management. It introduces Smart Albums that automatically sort digital assets by file types. Its keywords and tags give contextual labeling, while folders and albums offer improved sorting options.

The software delivers folders and albums to provide customizable sorting options for digital assets. Teams can create their organization structure and sort through content alphabetically, by date, or by file type with a single click. Every uploaded asset in Canto gets placed in a Smart Album. These albums are a quick go-to option for finding assets by their file type.


Canto has advanced search capabilities, allowing teams to filter search results by keywords, authors, dates, file sizes, and file types. Global search is the system’s default search. The results of this global search include any relevant details of the searched text, such as file names, metadata, and dimensions.


Canto gives admins a visual dashboard to see user activity and report on the media library’s effectiveness. Admins can arrange report widgets to display everything from file storage and logins to top search terms and downloads. Users can also run detailed reports on how others engage with images, videos, and other digital assets stored in Canto.


With Canto, users can approve content, develop new ideas, and communicate with outside colleagues and external agencies. The software has Portals and Workspaces, so content is only accessible when it’s on-brand and ready.

Administrators and Contributors can set up their private Workspaces to collaborate on media assets. Content developed in Workspaces is not visible for everyone until it’s deemed ready for the main library. Teams can simplify task management with workflows in the system. Users get work done more efficiently with better transparency by setting up task assignments with due dates in Canto.
