ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus product overview

ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus, or ManageEngine MDM, is a mobile device management (MDM) solution for empowering the enterprise workforce through mobility. The platform facilitates the management of smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, TVs, and rugged devices. It also handles multiple operating systems such as Android, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, macOS, Windows, and Chrome OS.

ManageEngine MDM enhances employee productivity without compromising corporate security. It provides features that control all aspects of mobile devices, from basic configurations to more advanced security settings. With a single, straightforward interface, the software takes the guesswork out of MDM.

Pros of ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus

  • Businesses can ensure that only authorized apps and device functions are accessible by implementing the platform’s Kiosk Mode. Admins can restrict devices to only a single app or a designated set of apps and customize the home screen wallpaper, icon layout, and fonts. They can also automate the entry and exit of single-app lockdown based on predefined conditions.
  • It lets organizations implement data loss prevention policies for corporate apps and workspaces. It also streamlines data sharing prevention between managed and unmanaged apps and removes all corporate data in case of a device integrity breach. In addition, it restricts backups of corporate data to third-party cloud services and stops users from installing apps from untrustworthy sources or even various business stores.

Device enrollment

With ManageEngine MDM, companies can enroll devices manually, in bulk, or make users self-enroll their iOS or Android devices. The software automatically works across a multitude of mobile environments and provides necessary security protocols so that unauthorized users can’t gain access to the corporate network. It focuses on over-the-air (OTA) device authentication and device onboarding, making the first step of device management a breeze.

App management

Businesses can install in-house and store apps silently, create their app catalog, and restrict blocklisted apps. Administrators can preconfigure app permissions and settings and hinder further modification by end-users.

Profile management

With ManageEngine MDM’s profile management feature, admins can impose one or more policies and restrictions to managed devices within their enterprise. For organizations that need to conduct minor configuration changes, the software further simplifies the creation of multiple profiles with Profile Cloning. This capability allows creating copies of existing profiles and associating them to different Groups with the required changes.

Kiosk mode

The solution doubles up as Kiosk software. It enables IT admins to lock down devices, restricting them to a single or specific set of apps and allowing only certain device features like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to be accessible. ManageEngine MDM Kiosk mode lets smart devices function as single-purpose devices while ensuring a better user experience and preventing device misuse.
