Features comparison

monday.com and Workfront both have features for task management, collaboration, and mobile access.

Task management

monday.com lets users assign tasks to their teammates so everyone knows what their roles are. Users can assign a specific user, multiple people, and even entire teams to tasks with monday.com. Keep in mind, though, that assigning tasks only works for users in your account. To assign tasks to team members who are not in your account, you can invite them to join your monday.com account. Users can see all tasks assigned to them through filtering their Boards, accessing the My Week icon, or manually searching their own names for the system to display all items and tasks related to them.

Workfront’s task management feature allows users to assign tasks, modify multiple user assignments in a task list, create advanced assignments, and manage allocation percentage on tasks. The system lets users assign a single task to a specific user, assign tasks in bulk, and assign multiple users to a single task. Tasks can be duplicated, edited, and associated with milestones in Workfront, too. The software automatically assigns unassigned tasks to users if there are issues in the scheduling area. Tasks assigned to each user may be accessed from the Project List.

Collaboration

With monday.com, users can collaborate in one shared workspace and have a virtual work hub that allows team members to communicate and collaborate no matter where they are. Whenever new items are set up as projects, clients, or tasks, users can utilize the Updates Section to keep every conversation in context. The Updates Section will help to keep everything organized while promoting transparency and the quick sharing of information. The software also has an inbox to keep up with everything on the boards where a user is subscribed.

Workfront users can work together and collaborate through proofing. Users can share a proof with reviewers and reviewers will provide detailed feedback. To share a proof, users simply need to tag the specific person. Workfront also has threaded discussions on projects, tasks, documents and other work items that are accessible through the Updates area. Users have the ability to invite other users or entire functional teams into these threaded discussions. Project team updates can be sent to everyone on the team using the Update All function.

Mobile access

monday.com has mobile applications for Android and iOS devices. This app is easy to set up and adopt. It provides real-time updates on tasks and projects. Users can contact the right people through calls or @mentions. Track time and progress, assign tasks with ease, and automate repetitive work with the mobile app. Users can see who’s working on what or monitor their own progress using multiple views. They can also invite teammates to view the progress of any user.

Like monday.com, Workfront has dedicated mobile apps for Android and iOS devices. With the app, users can work directly on tasks, issues, and approvals assigned to them. They can update tasks and issue statuses, view documents, attach photos, and interact with projects they are part of and manage projects they own. Tasks, issues, and requests can be converted to projects. Work, documents, and access requests delegated to the user can be viewed and approved, too. Details about timesheets can be viewed and adjusted. The app also has a virtual assistant that allows users to perform certain tasks via voice command.
