Born out of San Francisco, Streak was developed by three people disappointed with the current CRM offerings and annoyed with the amount of toggling back and forth they were doing from their CRM to their Gmail inbox. They decided to develop the “CRM in your inbox” – Streak. Streak is currently in beta, but a premium version with more features will be available soon.
Streak is the CRM for heavy Gmail users. Instead of going through the extra step of importing contacts from your Gmail account to your CRM, Streak is integrated with- and utilized from- your inbox. By no means does that mean Streak isn’t feature-filled with contact management, team collaboration tools and a dashboard to show progress above your email. Streak has different screens that are optimized with fields and information to best match your CRM needs. So whether you are managing leads, tickets for customer support, or potential company hires, you can easily and quickly see an overview of your contacts and follow up tasks. Furthermore, implementing Streak into Gmail gives users the ability to schedule emails to be sent at a later time – an option that most users wish Gmail natively had. Streak also has an app for iOS users to let them view and update their contacts anywhere.
Many Streak users have blogged about their positive experience with the software. A freelance journalist uses Streak to keep track of her journalism pipeline, such as who she’s contacted, who her leads are, and what she’s pitched. The journalist noted the ease in which Streak has organized her correspondence by custom and pre-fab folders and filters, creating a more user-friendly experience than Gmail’s current tab system.
