About Medlium
Medlium, a Gainesville, Florida-based company, develops, sells, and supports an eponymous electronic medical records system released in 2013.
Medlium EMR / EHR is offered via a cloud-based delivery on desktop, and free mobile applications for Android and iOS (iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch). The Medlium EHR system, which one reviewer called “the best mobile implementation I’ve seen of an EMR,” is both functional and intuitive, moves quickly, and, thanks to the ability to customize forms and workflows, adapts to the user, rather than the opposite. Beyond simple patient records, scheduling, and appointment management, Medlium includes functions for medication / vaccination inventory, automated email appointment reminders, electronic signatures, and much more. Furthermore, it includes all of this functionality with its free version. Unlocking the premium edition of Medlium removes limits on the number of automations, templates, and messages that can be used, includes phone-based reminders and priority support, and further paid add-ons are offered, including SureScripts-network electronic prescribing.
One of the more attractive aspects of Medlium isn’t, strictly speaking, a feature, but rather the platform’s truly mobile-optimized design; recognizing that healthcare professionals may not always have secure, reliable internet access, the Medlium mobile applications allow you to work offline, and will sync with the server when an Internet connection is reestablished. It also has a social network-like design for physicians, where users are encouraged to invite and collaborate with their colleagues.
HIPAA-compliant and reasonably priced, we recommend the Medlium EHR / EMR system to any physician in any specialty, but especially to those physicians using mobile devices for a majority of their encounters.
