MDConnection is a robust practice management practice management system (PMS) developed by LaJolla Software. MDConnection is designed to automate workflows and maximize efficiency for clinical and administrative users; MDConnection is used by small medical practices, hospitals, third-party medical billers, and urgent care clinics.
MDConnection is delivered via the cloud, so there are almost no start-up costs; since the billing is done via a low monthly rate, up-front fees are minimal. Another benefit of the subscription-based practice management software is that your hardware costs are minimal; if your office is already using desktops, laptops, or tablets, it’s likely that your existing hardware will work with MDConnection. Also, since MDConnection works on any computer or tablet with a browser, you can access the system from anywhere as long as you have an Internet connection. All updates and upgrades to the software are included in your monthly subscription as well. In addition to the MDConnection practice management software, LaJolla Software has developed a patient portal add-on software: PatientConnection. Patient portals are a requirement under Stage 2 of the Meaningful Use Incentive Program, but beyond requirements, patient portal software increases patient engagement, reduces missed appointments, and has other positive impacts on any practice’s bottom line.
