Get Ready for the World’s Largest IoT Event

Every day, the world grows more connected. Computers and smartphones are no longer the only devices accessing the World Wide Web. Our vehicles, thermostats, lights, refrigerators, and even entire cities are finding themselves caught up in the digital subterfuge we refer to as the Internet of Things (IoT).

Now in its fourth year, Internet of Things World brings together attendees from around the globe for the world’s largest and most comprehensive IoT event. Taking place May 16-18 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, the event will feature 400 speakers, 250 sponsors and exhibits, and a whopping expected attendee count of 11,000.

If you have attended in years past, you know this is an excellent opportunity to check the pulse of the IoT and gain practical insight. IoT pioneers and experts from top companies such as GE, Samsung, NASA, Ford, Microsoft, Facebook, and Google will be presenting throughout the conference.

Just a few of the hot topics at this year’s event include: Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality, Connected & Autonomous Vehicles, Smart Homes & Smart Cities, Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence, and IoT Security.

Here’s a better look at the event breakdown for those looking to plan the ultimate IoT experience:

10 Conference Tracks

Leading IoT experts will present on topics most relevant to the IoT world right now. Each day, key sessions are divided into three focus areas:

  • Consumer IoT: AR/VR, Entertainment, Smart Home, Wearables, Sports, Connected & Autonomous Vehicles
  • Industrial & Enterprise IoT: Agriculture, Oil/Gas/Mining, Smart Cities, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Retail
  • IoT Enablers: IoT Architecture, IoT Data Analytics, AI, IoT Security, Blockchain, Business Transformation

Executive Keynote Day

It’s all in the name. On May 16, featured C-level speakers from some of the world’s foremost corporations will present attendees with a full day of networking and learning.

Free Expo Hall & New Experience Areas

Open all three days of the main conference, the free-to-attend expo hall is packed with 250 exhibitors, sponsors, and startups. New to the expo hall this year are “experience areas,” which give attendees a chance to see IoT products in-person and meet the folks behind them. Register for your free expo pass here.

Ecosystems Center Stage

Another free benefit for attendees, the Ecosystem Center Stage is located at the heart of the show floor and features expert discussion on topics such as:

  • The Power of Women as IoT Adopters and Influencers
  • IoT Security Breaches and Strategies
  • Investing in IoT

IoT Developer Stage

Here, attendees will find tactical training sessions, workshops, and presentations taking a closer look at how development, design, and open-source technologies are critical to the continued success of the IoT.

Startup City

One of the most popular attractions of IoT World, Startup City is where you’ll find active disruptors of the IoT space trying to make their mark in front of high-level investors. As an attendee, you will be front and center for riveting pitch sessions. If you’re part of a startup, get ready to build great new relationships.

Vendor Insider Sessions

New for 2017, Vendor Insider Sessions provide attendees and sponsors/exhibitors another avenue to get up-close and personal in a workshop environment. Need more incentive to stop by? There’s a $500 gift card on the line, too.

Networking Parties

Facilitating new connections is a huge focus of IoT World, but not everyone loves traditional icebreakers. With that in mind, IoT World came up with the “Booth Crawl.” On May 16, conference pass holders can take part in the fun twist on the traditional pub crawl by visiting select exhibitors who will be serving up welcome drinks and spirited conversation. If you can’t make the Booth Crawl, be sure to check out the “Tech on Tap” party the next evening for another great networking event.

Analyst Breakfast Briefings

Want to soak up as much as you can during this year’s conference? The Analyst Breakfast Briefings will kickstart your morning by feeding your brain and body. Leading industry analysts will be on-hand to share valuable insights you won’t want to miss.

IoT Business Fundamentals Workshop

For those looking to get in a day early, the IoT Business Fundamentals Workshop on May 15 teaches students the fundamentals needed to implement or improve existing IoT technology at your company.
