What do you like best about this product?

We are using AtTask to innovate work flows in Marketing, R&D, HR, and QA and QA. The system is very easy to configure and design in. HR is benefiting from having EOO, Work Comp, and other information intensive activities taken into AtTask and then made ready for collaboration and reporting. Work management is a true benefit of the system. On the project management side of things, projects are easy to create and then share. Our project managers live by the system and have moved all existing projects from ad-hoc and MS Project to AtTask.

What do you like best about this product?

I like that it handles project management, program management, and portfolio management like a PPM solution should. In addition to this, it expands upon that and includes the ability to manage workflow. Whether it be someone making a request, to someone taking that request and working on it, to making it part of a project (software enhancement as an example). It’s a natural progression on project management and the ability to report on any field within the tool offers powerful insight into both project management, but process improvement. The other thing that really differentiates AtTask from others in the field is their consulting and ability to help with adoption rates and company penetration. Not only do they help you configure the system, they sit down with you and determine what your workflow are, how they are now, how you would like them to be, and then works to configure that into the system. The amount of follow up and engagement has been second to none. What do you dislike? I really do enjoy the tool as a whole and I like how engaging the training that is offered. One thing that I did dislike was how long a few of the trainings were. It would have been more beneficial to have an intro training that was specifically for a particular license type. For example, you have a person that will only be requesting work. You have a short, could even be pre-recorded, training that went over the absolute basics for that type. The Fundamentals training is fantastic and gets people up-to-speed quickly for more in-depth users, but basic users such as requesters, approvers, and even some collaborators could use a pared down training. Outside the realm of the typical project management problems, this really is working to help with communication. Whether it be on a project, a task, an issue, or workflow, everyone is on the same page and workings towards the same objective. In addition to communication, transparency was the 2nd objective of the tool. It allows teams to know who is doing what and allows resource allocation based upon that.
