Salesforce is the number one cloud-based CRM on the market. It offers a variety of different cloud-based programs that are designed to boost sales, productivity, social media acumen, and more. It is a program that is meant for companies of all sizes, and can be expanded or contracted based on the needs of the organization. It has over 100,000 satisfied clients, including companies such as Burberry, Coca-Cola, Virgin America, Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Delta, Facebook, GE, NBCUniversal, Herman Miller, and Time Warner Cable.

Sales Cloud, Salesforce.com’s CRM and sales force automation cloud software, comes in many sizes. The least expensive version is the Group Version, which costs $25 per month, per user. The most expensive is the Enterprise Version, which costs $300 per month, per user. With Salesforce, the more expensive the platform is, the more robust features become. The core features that are in all versions of the suite include opportunity tracking, lead scoring, routing, and management, as well as email tracking and templates. Other features that the more advanced versions include have mass email, customizable dashboards, integration via web service API, a live agent for web chats, multiple sandboxes, unlimited custom app development and many more.

Given how popular Salesforce.com is, there are many hundreds of success stories associated with its name. Facebook, one of the largest social media platforms, uses Salesforce.com to help them keep track of account information and contact information for their advertisers. Apps that Facebook has built on the Salesforce.com platform also assist them in keeping track of employees throughout hiring and retiring.

What do you like best about this product?

Easy to customize to create custom fields. Easy to use. Powerful reporting tools that gives us the business intelligence we need for our pipeline based on our product lines, and also based on where they are in the sales pipeline.

What could be improved about this product?

Not terribly easy to do a mass customization. For example if you want to include a customized field in multiple objects (accounts, contacts and opportunities) you have to create the custom field for each object.

What was your main concern about buying this software?

Just go with Salesforce.com. You can quickly get into analysis paralysis by looking at all the different CRM vendors. For a small business we just need insight into our pipeline and Salesforce.com is the easiest to customize and upload data into. Just do some investigation for future proofing i.e. what if we want SFDC to sync with your email automation tool, or with the forms on your website. If it checks off the future proofing then go with it.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you seen?

Salesforce is a product that will definitely enhance your workflow.

What do you like best about this product?

As the CRM Project Manager for a rapidly growing organization, I have been very impressed with Salesforce’s ability to meet the various needs of my company. From bettering interdepartmental communication to sales forecasting and lead generation management, I am able quickly and easily identify problems and offer solutions with the tools Salesforce offers. Most of all, I have had a great experience utilizing Salesforce’s Premier Success Plan and highly recommend it to anyone building a CRM system from scratch.

What do you like best about this product?

I have been working with SF for about 4+ years and the experience has been exceptional. Implemented Sales Cloud at my previous company and it was quite refreshing transitioning from the legacy Siebel Application. We were able to implement the solution within weeks (just using the Declarative framework) and successfully migrate the Sales users to the new platform. To get started, we used most of the OOB functionalities; but later, started customizing to bring on additional functionalities. Subsequently, we came with a plan to transition other departments including Marketing and Callcenter over to SF. In my current role, I have been working on the Service Cloud platform, implementing Callcenter solutions for the customers.

What do you like best about this product?

My new position at a global financial company introduced me to Salesforce. It allows us to keep new client prospects and requests organized with our sales representatives and the Microsoft Word add-in allows me to pull information I need from Salesforce to contact these prospects. Would recommend.
