Optimum HRIS is developed, sold, and supported by Optimum Solutions, a company that’s provided in-house HRIS software solutions for payroll, HR, time and attendance, employee self-service and applicant tracking to companies across the United States for over 25 years. 

All of the Optimum HRIS applications are designed with flexibility and simplicity in mind; regardless of which Optimum HRIS modules are needed, all operate on a single employee database. Available as standalone solutions or as part of a fully integrated HRIS platform, Optimum Solutions’ modules include:

  • Optimum Payroll: a robust, comprehensive payroll system which adheres to ACA/OSHA/HIPAA and other government regulations, Optimum Payroll can process unlimited payrolls at multiple entities without conflict, print checks, handle direct deposits, integrate with any third-party general ledger, and more. 
  • Optimum HR: handles core HR functions including employee attendance, an unlimited number of employee records, ACA/EEO/COBRA/OSHA reporting, benefits management, and more. 
  • Optimum Time & Attendance: a workforce management solution with business rule-based options, fully electronic timecard management with PC, mobile, or biometric options, unlimited user-defined scheduling, reporting, and more. 

In addition to the three core applications, Optimum offers add-on modules for employee self-service, an alert/notification system, and applicant tracking. All add-ons are integrated with the main solutions, making it quick and easy to create a custom HRIS system that meets your exact needs. Furthermore, all Optimum HRIS modules can be delivered in a traditional, on-premise licensing model for both Microsoft Windows and IBM i (AS/400, iSeries, and System i) platforms, or via a cloud-based SaaS model.

What do you like best about this product?

very functional, good support team and they are on top of updates and new requirements.

What could be improved about this product?

this software is very complicated and not user friendly. The reporting is terrible. You can’t select fields to show in a report. It’s impossible to get everything needed without running multiple reports and merging them or having Optimum create a special report for you. The reports also don’t export to excel in a usable way.

What was your main concern about buying this software?

I was concerned about the set up and implementation. I didn’t understand during set up, why we were doing things a certain way because I didn’t understand how the software functions. I would have done things differently if I would have had a better understanding of how this software works.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you seen?

needed to be able to have multiple states for income tax withholding. This software does this very well.

What do you like best about this product?

Optimum HRIS is very functional and does what we need it to. They have made strides in the web interfaces of both the Suite application as well as their company website. The new branding and navigation is A+ compared to the old stuff.

What could be improved about this product?

Too frequent of update releases. I wish more testing could be done before they get released so I don’t have to apply a new one once a week, three weeks in a row. This isn’t always the case but I do feel updates are released too often a majority of the time.

What was your main concern about buying this software?

The big 3 for me would be make sure that 1. The software you’re purchasing is capable of doing everything you need it to. 2. Support is guaranteed to you in a certain window (problems can and will occur no matter what application you choose) 3. The user interface is easy to grasp.

For us, Optimum has done that.

Optimum has streamlined the HR process and made it much easier for our staff.

What do you like best about this product?

The product is very user friendly and works well with our accounting software and web based timekeeping system.

What could be improved about this product?

Not much to say for improvement. Optimum has served our organization well and if a problem has appeared technical support has responded in an immediate fashion. Many improvements are made based on user input at the annual user’s conference.

What was your main concern about buying this software?

My main concern was change. There is always a fear of moving to something different and outside of your comfort zone. Once we were set up and running I would not think of a better system to use but Optimum.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you seen?

Our decision to switch to Optimum came on the heels of our organization upgrading our accounting software. We decided it made sense to find a software that could handle our HR and payroll needs as well as integrate with our accounting system. Optimum was by far the best choice of all the programs we looked at.

How likely would you be to recommend this software to a friend or colleague?

What do you like best about this product?

The product is awesome. It is very easy to use and the transition from our old payroll system to Optimum is very seamless.
It was pretty simple and straight forward. Support team is very helpful.

What could be improved about this product?

All the functionality is there and it is very useful.

I was concern about how was the transition process will be but it was easy and smooth.

What do you like best about this product?

It’s easy to use and operate. We migrated from Sage Abra utilizing FoxPro… Our entire process from HR to payroll has been improved by the migration.

What could be improved about this product?

Reporting. Optimum reports can be exported to excel to manipulate, however they go over with way too much formatting making what could be a simple manipulation of data a tedious process. Putting in a tool to do quick queries directly in the system vs. using Excel Query and connecting to the server would be great.

What was your main concern about buying this software?

We did not have local support (vendor was on the other coast) so on-site training was not an option.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you seen?

Reduced payroll processing time, greater flexibility additional payroll runs. A more stable system overall.

How likely would you be to recommend this software to a friend or colleague?
