A system designed with the input of physicians, MDsuite helps providers reduce medical errors associated with information re-entry by centralizing electronic health records (EHR), scheduling, and billing functions in one platform.

Currently in use with over 25 different specialties, MDsuite’s EHR offers physicians a flexible, server or web-based option with a powerful suite of tools for clinical use. MDsuite’s Room View function helps office staff better maintain the flow of patients in and out of examination rooms while immunization, medical release, and health examination forms are all one click away from the main interface. For clinicians, MDsuite features integration with Dragon speech recognition software, allowing providers to dictate notes hands free. This EHR also includes educational documents that help keep treatment decisions in line with best practices as well as an intuitive e-prescribing module that lets clinicians order medication without having to navigate to a different program. Additional functionality includes automated reminders that help physicians apply preventative care, integration across locations so providers can set up a health information exchange (HIE), and computerized physician order entry (CPOE).

Users of MDsuite’s practice management system since 2005, Dr. Pelfrey and Dr. Fleagle of Ohio needed to implement an EHR system in 2010 to stay current with industry regulations. After their previous experience with MDsuite’s practice management system, these doctors didn’t consider any other EHR option. The Ohio-based doctors and their billing manager Brenda cited MDsuite’s excellent customer service and robust platform as their main motivations for choosing this program.

What do you like best about this product?

If you (as the end user) are willing and able to put (literally) hundreds, if not thousands of hours in implementation, this can be an excellent EMR. HOWEVER, when you have a problem, they like to ignore you and when you have a suggestion for improvement “It’s in the next build,” but never is.

What could be improved about this product?

Answer your phones and emails promptly. There needs to be an easy-to-use interface so that patients can enter their medical/social/medication history in a form recognizable to the computer. Would save the office a ton of transcribing time.
