Software that includes “Performance Management” in its list of features can have varied uses. 

In Human Resources (HR) software, “Performance Management” usually means determining the value added, improvements made, or other aspects of that team members’ or teams’ performance. HR software with “Performance Management” features usually allow the electronic administration of these processes. 

In Project Management, “Performance Management” usually has the same meaning as above, but it can be project focused as well. 

In Business Intelligence, “Performance Management” can be much more wide-ranging, as data analysis tools can frequently analyze the success, failure, or other outcome determination of various campaigns, investments, etc.
