Software that has ‘Accounting’ features usually includes functions for managing a businesses’ accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, invoice and/or bill generation, etc. Not to be confused with standalone accounting programs, software that includes ‘Accounting’ features usually does so in the form of a module of a greater system, such as an enterprise resource planning application, financial-focused project management software, point-of-sale software, or other business systems. Usually ‘Accounting’ features as part of these other software solutions are intended to extend or improve the functionality of an existing accounting system.
