The 2016 Digital Publishing Innovation Summit is just around the corner. Scheduled for July 13-14 at New York City’s famous Waldorf Astoria, the event will feature over 40 speakers, 20 hours of networking, and a boatload of industry case studies.

Nicole Carrico is the VP of Content Collaborations at Upworthy. Carrico works with the editorial, business, and video teams to build “cause-based storytelling” programs. Prior to joining Upworthy, Carrico worked for Discovery Communications, where she launched their digital branded entertainment studio. She has also worked for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and AOL, when they initially launched into branded entertainment. Carrico’s philosophy is that branded entertainment is an opportunity for a publisher to leverage sponsor dollars to bring great content to the screen. Carrico’s will give a presentation called “Empathetic Storytelling.”
Melissa Goidel serves as Chief Revenue Officer at Refinery29. Refinery29 is the fastest-growing independent fashion and style website in the United States, with over 25 million monthly visitors and over 175 million users. Goidel has over 15 years of digital and 20 years of management experience, and throughout her career has contributed over $1 billion in digital sales to various companies. Before joining Refinery29, Goidel built the national sales team at Brand.net, where she served as the Senior Vice President. She also worked for Time, Inc. and Yahoo! Financial Services. At this year’s summit, Goidel will give a talk called “Building Your Audience in a Challenging Landscape.”
Jonathan Meyers has been with CNBC Digital since 2010. CNBC is the world-recognized leader in business news. Meyers moved into the position of Vice President of Strategy and Operations in February of 2016. He is now responsible for day-to-day digital business operations including strategy, partnerships, analytics, and marketing. Prior to his current role, he was the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for CNBC News Group. Meyers has also advanced digital initiatives at Forbes.com and Sony Music Entertainment. He holds a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Columbia. Meyers’ summit presentation is titled, “How to Create a Sustainable Audience Growth Strategy.”
Neil Vogel joined About.com (an IAC Company) as Chief Executive Officer in 2013. About.com is the largest source of expert content on the Internet, boasting more than 1.5 million pieces of content across 1,000 topics. Vogel also serves as Chairman of the board of Recognition Media, which he co-founded in 2004. Recognition Media owns and produces media and awards properties such as the Webby Awards, the Netted.net daily email, The Telly Awards, and Internet Week. Additionally, Vogel works as a venture partner with FirstMark Capital. Prior to his role with Recognition Media, Vogel served as Chief Corporate Development Officer from at Alloy Media + Marketing, which targets the teen and youth market. During the summit, Vogel will deliver a “Fireside Chat,” discussing the question, “How do we continue success at About.com?”
