Conference Preview: The 2016 Uberflip Experience

Great content is about more than putting up a blog post or sending a newsletter. It’s about an experience—building an entire journey with your customer at the helm and your brand as the guide.

The same can be said about a great content marketing conference. With all the professional development opportunities out there for content marketers these days, an excellent conference will be more than just a list of sessions. It will be an experience. That’s exactly what you’ll get with the 2016 Uberflip Experience.

August 24th and 25th, marketers from across the globe will come together in Toronto, Canada for two jam-packed days. In between sessions from some of the top speakers in content marketing (Jay Baer and Ann Handley) and some of the biggest brands in content marketing (Unbounce and Contently), attendees will have plenty of time for fun. Day one of the conference even concludes with a rooftop party. So, grab your swag-collecting bag and register here for the Uberflip Experience.

There are no overlapping sessions at the conference, so you technically don’t have to miss a thing. You can also register for a pre-conference workshop to learn more about improving your content marketing with UberFlip. Here are five sessions we’re most excited about.

Hug Your Haters: How to Embrace Complaints and Keep Your Customers

Jay Baer, President at Convince & Convert

Ignoring your detractors won’t make them go away. And in a world where everyone has the power to write whatever they want wherever they want, there are more “haters” than ever. In this sure-to-be hilarious session, Jay Baer will share his research into why and where customers complain.

Attendees to Jay’s session will walk away with a better understanding of how to deal with customer complaints, learn from them, and turn them into customer retention.

Never Be Content with Content

Joanna Weibe, founder of Copy Hackers

What attendee of a conference about content doesn’t love a little wordplay? In this session, Joanna Wiebe, who consults brands big and small on content and copywriting, tells you what to do after your content strategy is in place . . . keep creating content and get better at it in the process.

Is Your Marketing Strategy Ready for the Wild, Wild West?

Lauren Goldstein, VP of Strategy and Partnerships at Babcock and Jenkins (BNJ)

Lauren Goldstein brings to UberFlip tons of valuable, proven insights straight from BNJ’s work with top Fortune 500 companies. Her session will be like a glimpse into their strategy tables, helping attendees understand how to navigate today’s marketing landscape, get customer insights, and use those insights to create strategy alignment across your organization.

Marketing is Dead, Only Moments Matter

Kyle Lacy, VP of Marketing at OpenView Venture Partners

In a world full of noise, it’s the experiences your brand creates, not the ads, that drive customer engagement and retention. Kyle’s session will focus on why marketers must stop thinking about themselves in the traditional sense, and instead adopt a mindset of themselves as experience makers and managers.

The Science of Content

Anela Chan, Lead Data Scientist at Contently

Words and numbers may seem at odds with one another, but in fact, they are two sides of the same coin. Excellent content marketing is driven by excellent data, and that is Anela Chan’s area of expertise. Anela will show attendees how she uses algorithms to help big brands develop dynamic and effective content marketing plans.
